Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir joined residents of his home county to celebrate Arsenal’s win over Manchester United on Sunday evening.

While taking to his Facebook page, the Mombasa county boss was seemingly elated after Arsenal edged their rivals Manchester United in the thrilling Premier league match.

The politician who was donned in the famous red and white Arsenal Jersey, could not help but celebrate the huge Gunners victory.

“What a game!!!

I joined fellow fans at The Hague in Tudor, Mvita for an evening of thrilling football. The Gunners did what they do best while that other team did what it does best” his post reads. 

Governor Abdulswamad is known to be a huge supporter of Arsenal football club and after the victory over the Red Devils, he didn’t hide his happiness.

Other famous people and politicians in Kenya who are Arsenal supporters include former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, President William Ruto, former Governor Hassan Joho, Alnur Mohammed media personality Carol Radull and Nana Owiti among others. 

Arsenal win over Manchester United 

Arsenal dominated but fell behind through Marcus Rashford’s fine strike, after Havertz’s lazy pass was intercepted by Christian Eriksen.

However they drew level less than a minute later when Martin Odegaard swept the ball home. 

Throughout the game, England international Saka was again quiet by his standards, but should have put the Gunners in the lead before the dramatic finale, firing straight at Andre Onana from point-blank range with the goal gaping.

Later on, the game looked to be heading for a draw but the hosts were rewarded for their endeavor as their summer signing and the returning Gabriel Jesus both scored in stoppage time to win a controversial encounter that saw VAR thwart both teams.

With this victory, the Gunners hold on to fifth place while the Red Devils fall to 11th.
