Popular Kenyan musician Akothee has been admitted to the hospital following severe stomach pain.
Speaking through her social media handles on Sunday, November 9, Esther Akoth, alias Akothee, revealed how her children rushed her to the hospital at 6:00 a.m. after she fell sick.
According to the singer, she suffered stomach pain after witnessing a disturbing video of a young girl in her home in Mombasa on Saturday. The musician said that it caused her a lot of pain and that the night felt like the longest of her life.
“My children brought me to the hospital at 6:00 a.m. this morning. I had been having severe stomach pain since I saw that disturbing video of the young girl in my home. I was so terrified that I literally went into labour. The night felt like the longest night of my life,” Akothee said.
While narrating how the incident unfolded, Akothee revealed that at first, she didn’t want to wake her children despite experiencing diarrhea, vomiting, and a burning sensation in her stomach due to acidity. She added that the pain became unbearable around midnight, forcing her to sleep in the toilet.
By 5 a.m., she had no choice but to inform her children of her condition as she rolled on the floor, trying to reach their door while screaming for help. As soon as her children heard her, they woke up hurriedly and rushed her to the hospital through the emergency wing.
“They found me on the toilet floor, completely messed up and exhausted. In a panic, they rushed me to the hospital through the emergency wing. But instead of receiving care, we were met by a nurse with an attitude,” Akothee added.
At the time of writing this article, Akothee had received treatment and medication. Although her stomach was still in pain, the controversial musician expressed hope for a quick recovery.
