Mama Margaret Nyokabi, who was accompanied by her daughter Mercy, visited Opoda Farm on Wednesday, 29th, where she condoled with Mama Ida Odinga following the death of Raila just over a week ago. The visit was confirmed by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party on its social media platforms.
“Widow of the 1st Governor of Nyeri County, the late Hon. Nderitu Gachagua, Mama Margaret Nyokabi, and her daughter Mercy were at Opoda Farm in Bondo today to give pole to Mama Ida Odinga and family following the passing of Baba Raila Odinga on the 15th of this month,” an ODM post reads.
Mama Nyokabi’s visit to the Odinga family home comes at a time when a section of Kenyan leaders have been frequently visiting to condole with the widow of the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Among the leaders who have stood with the family during this period of grief are President William Ruto, former President Uhuru Kenyatta, KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Speaker Moses Wetangula and many other politicians from across the political divide.

This also comes at a time when Kenyans have been urging former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to visit the home of the late Prime Minister and condole with his family. Gachagua, who is the younger brother of the late Governor Nderitu Gachagua, and a known critic of Raila Odinga, is yet to make a public statement.
