It is now 10 years since late Kenya’s controversial businessman, Jacob Juma, died. Even though a decade has passed since his demise, Juma’s death remains mysterious, with many unanswered questions.
While most of his supporters attribute his death to political motives, the circumstances surrounding it continue to spark debate.
Before his demise, Jacob Juma made several posts on social media which some people believe may have foreshadowed his fate, as they revealed crucial information about the government at the time.
In this segment, Times Digital Kenya takes a look at some of the posts adn and statements he wrote on Twitter (now X) days before his controversial death.
Jacob Juma’s Revelations in Tweets
Jacob Juma, who was involved in businesses related to mining, real estate, and government supply contracts, made countless social media posts, some months and others days before his brutal death.
One of the posts touched on the NYS scandal during Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency. In his message, Jacob mapped out the key suspects and how each was allegedly involved. As if that was not enough, he also called out the Ministry of Health over tendering and leasing scandals.
In another post, he did not leave out the Supreme Court and IEBC.
“Dealing with IEBC and Supreme Court is like marrying a lady from Koinange Street and expecting her to be loyal and faithful. She can’t!!!”
— Jacob Juma (@kabetes)
He also targeted the then President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, claiming that for corruption to end in Kenya, the two had to leave power.
“For corruption to end, Uhuru and Ruto MUST go. They smell graft, look like graft, eat and enjoy graft, and their blood flow is graft.”
— Jacob Juma (@kabetes)
Just a month before his death, the late Jacob Juma had promised to release documents that he claimed would prove that the government was unable to account for millions of shillings linked to the Eurobond scandal during Uhuru Kenyatta’s first term in office.
In some of his tweets, the businessman also predicted the outcome of the 2016 USA presidential election. According to him, Donald Trump would defeat Hillary Clinton, which later happened.

In May 2016, Jacob Juma was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Nairobi, and his death remains mysterious to date.
