George Anyona, however, did not experience this since they buried him seven months after his demise.
The no-nonsense politician from Kisii met his untimely death on November 5, 2003. This was after he was involved in a grisly road accident around Lusaka Road in Nairobi.
Anyona’s supporters, who gathered at his rural home for his burial one month later, felt disappointed when they learned that the funeral had been postponed for seven months.
Why was he buried after seven months?
According to reports, the body of the former Kitutu Masaba MP was kept in a private hospital in Kisii as his family members fought over his ultimate resting place. In addition, his brother Stephenson Mageto had acquired interim orders blocking the funeral because he wanted to know the whereabouts of the Sh2.3 million that was raised to cater for the burial.
