On February 1, 2025, Truphena Muthoni broke the record by hugging a tree for 48 hours at Michuki Park in Nairobi. Her extraordinary achievement earned commendation from former Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba among a huge number of Kenyans.

In December, Truphena aims to break her own record by hugging a tree for 72 hours. With her arms wrapped around the trunk of an indigenous tree, Truphena Muthoni goes without eating, drinking, sleeping, sitting, or even using the washroom.
