“Mt. Kenya is Now Fully Behind Ruto,” Wahome Thuku Claims Amid Ruto’s Mt Kenya Tour

Despite drumming up support against President William Ruto in the past few months, lawyer Wahome Thuku has now claimed that the Mt. Kenya region is behind the head of state. This comes moments after the first in command toured the central region as he sought to reclaim support following his fallout with Rigathi Gachagua.

Wahome Thuku, a harsh critic of William Ruto, alleged that Ruto’s tour in Mt. Kenya has been a success. Taking to his Facebook page, the vocal lawyer cited that Ruto had reclaimed the lost love of his supporters who backed him in the 2022 general election.

Thuku further cited that the Mt. Kenya region won’t be in the opposition for the next 50 years since they showcased unwavering support for Ruto in his Tuesday rallies. To cement his remarks, the advocate pledged to support President Ruto alongside his Mt. Kenya colleagues.

“William has taken back the mountain. He has reclaimed ALL the lost love. Mt. Kenya is now fully behind William. No more talk of Mt. Kenya being in opposition for 50 years unless you don’t believe the outcome of today’s events. We are all Kasongo followers now.” He said

Additionally, Wahome Thuku claimed that the Mt. Kenya block will back Ruto in his bid to retain his seat in 2027. As such, he concluded by saying that they would start voting for the president as early as 4am in the next general election.

“In 2027 we shall wake up at 4am to give him 90% of the votes and send him back to the State House.” Wahome Thuku further said

His remarks come hours after President William Ruto got a warm welcome in the region. Pictures of how residents of the Mt. Kenya region received Ruto during his Tuesday tour have since gone viral.

Wahome Thuku, who has been a loyal supporter of Rigathi Gachagua since his fallout with Ruto, is expected to run for the Othaya parliamentary seat in 2027. However, it’s not clear if he sides with Ruto or Gachagua, and his recent remarks have definitely raised eyebrows among his supporters.
