Gospel musician Betty Bayo has died after battling an illness for quite some time. Bayo, the ex-wife of Pastor Victor Kanyari, died on Monday, November 10, at the Kenyatta National Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment.
The Kikuyu gospel singer died after a long battle with leukaemia, as confirmed by her close ally and fellow musician, Ngaruiya Junior.

Just a day before the announcement of her death, the ‘Eleventh Hour‘ hitmaker posted a message on social media. According to the post seen by Times Digital Kenya, Betty Bayo seemingly shared a message of encouragement and a prayer to God, citing that one can do all things through Jesus Christ, unaware that it would her last message.

“I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me,” Betty Bayo said on Facebook.

Following her death, Pastor Victor Kanyari held a press briefing where he revealed what really happened before Betty Bayo died. Kanyari mourned his ex-wife and the mother of his two children, recalling the great moments they shared together. The controversial pastor was accompanied by a section of gospel musicians allied to the deceased.
” It hurts in ways I can’t explain. You left before I could say everything I needed to. I still see you in every laugh our children gives, in every little habit that reminds me of you. We had our moments — both the fire and the calm — but through it all, you were family. I’ll carry your memory, your love, and your spirit forever. Rest easy… you’ll always be missed.” Kanyari said on Facebook.
