Little-known Barack Obama’s brother, George Obama, lived in the Huruma slums in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, for many years.

Both George and Barack are sons of Barack Hussein Obama (who passed away in a vehicle accident in 1982), but have different mothers.

George Obama first met his famous brother during a visit to Kenya when he was five years old in the late 1980s, and they reconnected in 2006 when the former U.S. president visited Nairobi on a tour of East Africa.
Obama even mentions the brief meeting with his brother in his book Dreams from My Father.

In his own book, homeland, George has describes his life which is completely opposite to that of Barack Obama.

George Obama, who spent most of his life in poverty, watched as his half-brother, now well-known, rise from Harvard to the Senate and eventually to the White House.

Struggles with his education
Three of George Obama’s half-siblings, including Barack, were born to two American women.
Although George’s mother, Jael, is also a Kenyan, he was unable to take advantage of the same chances as his half-brothers and sister, the majority of whom studied and lived abroad.
George Obama dropped out of school at the young age of 15. He is now a former gang member who cares for infants and is kind to his buddies.

Criminal lifestyle
Obama served three months in prison in 2003 for a robbery that he has repeatedly claimed he didn’t commit, but he admits to having robbed numerous other people.
In addition to robbery, George Obama was once arrested for possession of marijuana after allegedly being caught with a single joint of “bhang” near his home in a Nairobi slum.
