Speaking during United Opposition Media briefing at the SKM Command Centre, Nairobi, Kalonzo outlined how the government is planning to deploy police officers and hire goons to disrupt the voting through violence, enabling and allowing illegal vote rigging.

“Violence is being prepared to cripple the by-election. It is a well cordinated scheme involving a section of the police, hired goons and compromising IEBC officials.” Kalonzo stated.”

While calling out to IEBC to interveve, Kalonzo revealed how, even before the Malava by-elections date, the process is already tainted by several cases of electoral irregularities, such as the illegal campaigns ochestrated by regime agents beyond the official campaign period; escorted by police officers and hired goons.

“This strikes at the very heart of electoral integrity. Once voting is disrupted, compromised IEBC officers will then exploit the confusion to stuff illegal votes into the ballot.” Kalonzo complained.

Besides hiring goons to masquerade as security officers to cause chaos during Malava by-election, Kalonzo also slammed the ruling administration of deliberating to bribe voters if they provide proof they voted for the ruling party’s candidate.

“They are even buying national IDs from Kenyans. This is not an election, it is a criminal enterprise against the sovereign people of Kenya” he fumed.

The Malava parliamentary seat became vacant after the death of lawmaker Malulu Injendi of UDA, in July this year. As such, the contest for Malava pits UDA candidate David Ndakwa against Seth Panyako of DAP-KENYA Party; who is backed by the United Opposition Coalition’s leaders including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Kalonzo Musyoka himself.
