Kanze Dena hands over Shs 1 Million from Uhuru Kenyatta for Betty Bayo’s funeral

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, through spokesperson Kanze Dena, has fulfilled the promise of Sh1 million for the late Betty Bayo’s funeral.

The former Citizen TV journalist, Kanze Dena, visited the home of Betty Bayo on Saturday the 15th to pass Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s condolence message to the family of the deceased.

She was received by the husband of the late gospel musician, Hiram Gitau alias Tash, as well as their children, Sky and Danny. During the visit, Kanze Dena delivered the Sh1 million support from the former President to assist with Betty Bayo’s burial.

“Spokesperson for the Office of the Fourth President, Ms. Kanze Dena-Mararo, today visited the home of the late gospel artist Betty Bayo to convey Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s condolence message. She comforted the family, assuring them of the former President’s prayers and support during this difficult time. Kanze also delivered the former President’s support of Ksh1 million for the funeral arrangements, extended in honor of Betty’s life and ministry,” A post by the Office of the Fourth President reads.

Kanze Dena delivered Uhuru Kenyatta’s message of condolence to the family, which read: “An extraordinary minister of the gospel whose music uplifted countless hearts and inspired hope across the nation.”

This comes as the burial arrangements of the late gospel minister have commenced. Betty Bayo is expected to be laid to rest on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at her property in Mugumo Estate, along Kiambu Road.
