Moses Kuria Turns Down Linturi’s Request to Postpone His Meru Tour

Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has turned down requests from Agriculture CS Muthika Linturi and other leaders from Meru to postpone his Meru county tour. 

Taking to his X account Kuria cited that he will be attending the event to launch County aggregation and industrial park in Meru on Monday 2.

This comes amid calls by CS Linturi and other leaders urging him to postpone his tour due to political wrangles among Meru leaders.

“I have launched County Aggregation & Industrial Parks in Busia, Kakamega, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Migori, Siaya, Kisii, Nyamira, Mombasa, Kajiado, Narok and Laikipia Counties. Tomorrow I have a ground break in the great Meru County. I have received requests from my colleague Mithika Linturi and the Meru Leadership to postpone due to the prevailing political situation in Meru…” Kuria said.

The vocal CS in the Kenya Kwanza government insisted that jobless Kenyans can’t wait for the political divisions to be resolved.

Now, Kuria has announced that he will be attending the event and that the schedule won’t be changed for political gains. 

“… With profound respect I will NOT postpone. The joblessness and poverty facing our people can not wait for even one hour as we fix our BROKEN politics.” Moses Kuria further said via his X account. 

Division in Meru leadership

This comes just hours after Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua distanced himself from the political battles in Meru county.

Gachagua urged the leaders to look for their own solutions on ways to work together.

The DP further said that, together with President William Ruto, they won’t intervene in the issue this time round.
