A section of Nandi residents have now spoken amid the ongoing debate of increasing the Presidential term to years.
During an interview on Thursday, some of the Nandi locals showed their disappointment with the increased cost of living across the country.
On the matter of increasing the Presidential term limits as proposed by Nandi senator Samson Cherargei, the Nandi residents opposed the move.

They said that instead of increasing the Presidential term limit to 7 years, they would in fact be happy if it was reduced to only 3 years.

This is seemingly a huge u-turn from the Nandi locals who have in the recent past been in full support of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
“Afadhali term ya president ikuwe three years, tuhangaike miaka tatu badala ya saba…” one of the Nandi residents said as quoted by NTV.
President William Ruto enjoyed huge support from the Nandi community but now some of them even want his term to be reduced to 3 years.
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei proposal to increase the Presidential term limit
The present five-year term restriction, according to Senator Cherargei, is insufficient for an elected president to fulfill his duties and keep his commitments to Kenyans.

The Nandi Senator claims that due to post-election circumstances like election petitions and the appointment of those who will serve in government, the first year of the Presidency is wasted.
Hence he is proposing for the term limit to be increased from 5 to 7 years.
However, some of the residents from his own county have seemingly opposed his idea as seen during an interview with the media.
