Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has reacted shortly after Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza was allegedly arrested by police officers.
This is as the police officers showed up at Ruiga Village, Imenti Central Constituency where Mwangaza was distributing a cow ostensibly to locals of the region.

Governor Mwangaza then exchanged words with the police as she wanted to know what had taken them to the homestead.
She then went into the police car where she claimed to have been arrested but the officers denied the happenings citing that the governor had stage managed the event.
Now, taking to his X account, Kuria has criticized the arrest of the Meru governor citing that the incident should not be tolerated.
Kuria also likened the incident with when the jubilee government used to arrest some leaders from William Ruto.
The vocal cabinet secretary has seemingly not been impressed by the odd incident of a senior leader in Kenya being arrested in broad daylight.

“It is wrong to harass Governor Kawira Mwangaza in exactly the same way the other government was harassing some of us” Kuria said via his X account.

The Meru count boss had been put under arrest where she was allegedly held in the police car for several hours.

“I am under arrest. The police officers hawataki kunipeleka Station kufungua mastaka. I have been held in this police car for two hours now..” Kawira said when the incident occurred.
