Raila Odinga house in Kisumu has been the matter of reiterated curiosity since 2014 when it was disclosed that the one-time Prime Minister was building a monumental bungalow in Kisumu.

The luxurious estate, which is snuggled in theRiat Hills , was termed as Raila Odinga’s ‘State House’ after he was defeated In the 2013 presidential elections.

Images of Raila Odinga house in Kisumu were foremost leaked in 2014 when the facility was yet under construction.

According to K24tv.co.ke,unconfirmed jots down also indicate that Raila Odinga house has a total of 74 rooms, entailing 10 bedrooms, four ample kitchens, two central meeting rooms, two small conference rooms and an area for offices. This information has never been substantiated by a reliable basis. To verify the claim, the plan has also not been made available to the public.

Additionally, it has been asserted that a foreign contractor hired to build Raila’s bungalow, was tardily tasked with finding local builders. The contractors in question have never been identified.

Raila Odinga denying the 1 Billion house in Kisumu

In an article by The Standard Raila Odinga denied putting up the Sh1 billion home in Kisumu saying the construction in question is the headquarters for his foundation.

Reacting to a story that appeared in a section of the press Raila’s spokesman at the time, Denis Onyango said the building was expected to be the headquarters of the Raila Odinga Foundation and its twin institution, Green Outreach Foundation Africa.

The institutions were at the time operating from small offices in Nairobi. In denying building a residence with over 70 rooms, Raila’s spokesman added that the building was to host a library and archival information covering the timeline of Odinga’s years in public life.

The building is located in an area overlooking the Kisumu International Airport.
