Who is Johnson Mwakazi?
Johnson Mwakazi became popular when he was hired by Citizen TV, where he hosted their morning show. He is well known for his eloquence and attention to detail. Mwakazi stands out from his competitors thanks to his deep, throaty voice.

In addition to working as a news anchor, Johnson Mwakazi provides the “fantastic” voice-over for various TV advertisements.
Even before he earned a degree in journalism, it was his voice that got him a job at Royal Media Services where he worked for several years becoming a household name in Kenya.

Johnson Mwakazi, who was born and raised in Kibera, has previously acknowledged that he experienced hardship as a child, and after completing high school.

To make ends meet, Mwakazi turned to the Kenya National Theatre (KNT) where he was an actor.
What happened to Johnson Mwakazi and why he left Citizen TV
Mwakazi left Citizen TV at the peak of his career, after working for the media station for about eight years. He later joined Fountain Media Group’s W TV, a newly launched media outlet at the time.

Although he was the editorial director, the media company struggled in the cutthroat market and was on its deathbed in less than three years.
Where does Johnson Mwakazi work?
Years after leaving Citizen TV, Johnson Mwakazi founded Royal Voice International, a media company that produces films, offers voice-over services, and provides presentations and training.

“Nowadays, I tell myself that maybe this is where I will feed more people and generations to come,”
he said during a past interview.
What is interesting is that Citizen TV still uses Johnson Mwakazi’s voice in some of their commercial announcements.
