Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has paid a visit to Mama Ida Odinga and her family to mourn the late former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.

In a post on her social media account after visiting Dr. Ida Odinga on Thursday, 13th, at her Karen residence in Nairobi, Waiguru described the moment as emotional as she offered her heartfelt condolences to the family following Raila’s passing.
Anne Waiguru was accompanied by members of the lobby group Daughters of Kenya (Mountain Chapter), as well as officials from the Kirinyaga County Executive and County Assembly.
“It was a deeply emotional moment visiting Mama Ida Odinga at her Karen residence today, together with representative members of the County Executive, County Assembly, and the Daughters of Kenya (Mountain Chapter), where I serve as Patron, to offer our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Baba Raila Odinga,” Governor Anne Waiguru said.
Furthermore, the Kirinyaga County boss described the late Raila Odinga and Mama Ida as her greatest mentors and longtime friends. Waiguru concluded by noting that the late ODM leader’s legacy and love for the country will live in the hearts of Kenyans forever.

“Baba and Mama Ida have been extraordinary mentors and cherished friends over the years. I am deeply grateful to Mama Ida for her warmth and grace during this difficult time. Baba’s wisdom, courage, and unwavering love for our nation will forever live in our hearts. #RIPBaba,” Waiguru added.
During the visit, Governor Waiguru presented pickups full of gifts to Mama Ida Odinga. Also present were Ida’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, and her elder sister, Rosemary Odinga.

Anne Waiguru’s visit to console Mama Ida Odinga comes as a large number of Kenyans and leaders continue to visit the Odinga family in both Bondo and Nairobi following the death of the former Premier.
