For many decades, most of the tallest buildings in Kenya have been found in Nairobi, the capital and largest city in the country. For instance, Nairobi has 18 buildings that stand taller than 80 m (262 ft), with several more under construction.

Nonetheless, over the years, this has begun to change, as some of Kenya’s other towns are developing taller buildings. This is the case with Daima Towers in Eldoret.

Details of Daima Towers

Eldoret’s Daima Towers, completed in 2016, is an 89-meter, 24-floor mixed-use skyscraper and the tallest building in Eldoret, Kenya. Owned by the Moi University Pension Scheme, it was built to generate investment returns for members.

Featuring commercial offices and a rooftop swimming pool on the 23rd floor, Daima Towers has 24 floors, with 16 typical floors dedicated to office space.

The building, which cost an estimated KSh 3.1 billion to construct, has over 356 parking spaces, a penthouse, and a health facility.

According to MUPS, the owners initiated the project to gain a foothold in the real estate market in Eldoret Town.

The Board of Trustees acquired the land on which the property sits to initially develop their Scheme Headquarters but later changed it to a commercial development for sale to provide greater financial benefits to the owners.

Daima Towers is not just a commercial investment; it is a symbol of Eldoret’s ambitions to become a regional business hub for businesses and visitors alike.

Besides providing practical services, Daima Towers serves as a community hub where people network and collaborate.
