Nairobi, Kenya, August 19, 2024– Guinness, the official beer of the Premier League, brought a great matchday experience to football fans in Kisumu as the new season kicked off over the weekend. The two-day live football experience was hosted at the Black Pearl Lounge in Kisumu.

This was marked by football fans having a cold Guinness drink while watching their favourite football matches. The football lovers turned up in large numbers during the first match of the weekend between Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Ipswich Town. The match ended 2-0 in favour of Liverpool.

That’s not all; it got more interesting as Arsenal faced Wolves in what was termed the match of the day. During this match, football fans showed their passion as most of Arsenal rivals rooted for their defeat. However, the Gunners came with all guns blazing as they won 2-0 over the Wolves.

Thereafter, fans were entertained with live DJ mixes after the final match between West Ham United and Aston Villa. 

The two-day matchday ended on Sunday as Chelsea faced the defending champions, Manchester City. The Citizens started their season in a bright way with a 2-0 victory over the Blues.

Guinness Matchday experience

Football fans in Kisumu had a great weekend at the Black Pearl Lounge, where they were treated to big screens and a cocktail menu. Additionally, they had to show their football knowledge during the clean sheet challenge and win prizes.

The two-day Guinness matchday in Kisumu ended in style as fans were entertained with a live music performance by Okello Max. Also among the top DJs in Kenya: DJs Pierra Makena and Grauchi kept the energy high long after the final whistle.

Guinness and the Premier League will continue with their partnership throughout the 2024–25 season. This will ensure football fans in Kenya have great experiences while watching their favorite Premier League teams play.
