Guinness Partners With Showmax in Big African Project, Shine

Nairobi, July 6, 2024, In a dazzling showcase of passion for football, Guinness has partnered with Showmax to present Shine, a 28-minute documentary that is already available on Showmax.

This film depicts the peculiar journeys of four loyal football fans in Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, and Nigeria who go above and beyond to turn the game into a beautiful and fulfilling experience within their local communities.

As a joint effort by Guinness and Showmax, Shine embodies the spirit and essence of the beautiful game, inspired by the stories of loyal super fans such as Gor Mahia’s superfan Toby Jakwaya, Nigeria’s vibrant commentator Tracy Chapele-Ugo, Ghana’s passionate George Forson, and Tanzania’s spirited Nasri Ramadhan.

The theme of the film is centered around the recurring passion and energy seen across Africa.

According to the CEO of General Entertainment at MultiChoice, Nomsa Philiso, they quickly grabbed the opportunity to collaborate with Guinness on Shine as soon as the latter approached them.

This project between the two giant companies will help capture an audience of around 250 million football fans on the African continent. 

Showmax is trying to bring together the 250 million football fans on our continent, so when Guinness approached us to collaborate on Shine, we jumped at the opportunity….
