Moi’s daughter once became the talk of the town when her relationship went public, sparking controversy across the country.

According to a local media publication, Doris Moi reportedly defied her father’s wishes by marrying her brother’s best friend, Ibrahim Kiptum Choge. Ibrahim Kiptum, along with Doris’ brother Jonathan Moi, were co-drivers in the Safari Rally.

Doris Moi reportedly fell in love with Ibrahim Choge, the son of former cabinet minister Simeon Kiptum Choge, who served in the late Mzee Daniel Arap Moi’s government.

Despite Doris Moi loving Ibrahim, her father, Mzee Moi, did not approve of their relationship and did not want them to marry.

However, Doris Moi took the bull by the horns and went on to marry the love of her life, going against her father’s wishes.

After marriage, Doris Moi and her husband relocated to Kaimosi in Nandi County. While there, they owned one of the largest tea farms in the region, where they engaged in tea cultivation.

Ibrahim Kiptum Choge death

After years together, Doris Moi’s husband, Ibrahim Kiptum, passed away following a car accident. His death led his father to claim that it was staged.

He even promised to award 500,000 KSh to anyone with information about his son’s death, but it yielded no results.
