Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has gifted his loyal worker, Hermstone Makam, a three-bedroom house after 14 years of dedicated service.
In a social media post on December 26, Sudi explained that he was fulfilling a promise to gift Hermstone a house, which he made to the man who took care of his compound even before he started building his own home.
“Lately, I remembered our promise (he didn’t remind me), so I gifted him a 3-bedroom house today. Because of his trust and honesty, I decided to reward him for his resilience, trustworthiness, and hard work.” Oscar Sudi said.
Sudi went on to recall how he first met Hermstone, revealing that they crossed paths in 2011 on Riara Road, where the latter was working at a construction site.
During the encounter, the man volunteered to wash Sudi’s car, and that was when the lawmaker noticed his hard work and determination.
For a period, the Kapseret MP tasked Hermstone Makam with washing his car, monitoring his dedication before urging him to relocate to Eldoret.
While in Eldoret, Hermstone took care of Sudi’s compound even before he started building his own home. According to Oscar Sudi, the place was very remote and did not even have power.
“When I met Hermstone Makam in 2011 on Riara Road in Nairobi, he was working on a construction site and asked me if he could volunteer to wash my car, and I agreed. I saw he was hardworking and honest, so I decided to take him in. I asked if he’d be willing to work for me because I saw he was a good person.” Sudi penned.
To appreciate Hermstone Makam’s trust, honesty and exemplary service, Sudi made a promise that he would help him have his own home one day.
Now, after 14 years of loyalty and dedication, Sudi has fulfilled his promise by gifting him a three-bedroom house.
In the spirit of giving, Sudi also gifted Peninah Manyara, popularly known as Mama Mungai, a woman who lost her child on February 2025.
The MP gave her a three-bedroom house similar to the one he gifted Hermstone Makam, a home that Sudi said would provide comfort and stability for Mama Mungai and her family.
He had promised to buy her land and build a house during the burial of her son, Mungai, who was working at one of Oscar Sudi’s businesses and was the breadwinner of his family.
“Ten months down the line, today I delivered on my promise. I delivered a three-bedroom house. She’ll be moving from Langas to Lemook, Kapseret, where I will now call her my neighbour,” Oscar Sudi concluded.
Peninah Manyara, together with her family, will be moving from Langas to Lemook, Kapseret, Eldoret, where the three-bedroom house is located.
