Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has once again demonstrated generosity after handing over two modern houses to a renowned musician whom he says has inspired him since childhood.
In a social media post on June 20, Sudi revealed that he had fulfilled a promise he made during Pastor Kimeto’s 50th Anniversary Celebration by gifting veteran musician Andrea Chamdany two modern houses.
The fully furnished homes, located in Kericho County, were officially opened and handed over to Mzee Chamdany and his family by Sudi.
“Today I fulfilled my promise I made during Pastor Kimeto’s 50th Anniversary Celebration by handing over two modern homes to Mzee Andrea Chamdany in Kericho County, the voice that shaped our melodies for generations through songs like ‘Rirenech Oh Kwandanyo’,” Oscar Sudi said.
During the handover ceremony, Oscar Sudi was accompanied by Presidential Advisor Farouk Kibet, former Great Lakes Region Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, and Kipkelion East MP Dr. Joseph Cherorot.
They were joined by a huge crowd that had gathered to witness the official handover of the houses to Mzee Andrea Chamdany.

In the post, Oscar Sudi went on to describe the veteran singer as someone whose music entertained and inspired him throughout his childhood. He said he had always viewed Mzee Chamdany as a role model and never imagined that one day he would stand alongside him.
In addition, the Kapseret MP stated that artists like Mzee Chamdany deserve to be celebrated while they are still alive, noting that gifting him two modern homes was a small token of appreciation.
“Mzee Chamdany’s music did more than entertain; it wove the stories of our people into harmony, taught values to our children, and gave courage to homes facing hardship. Artists like him plant seeds in the soul of a nation long before the rest of us understand their worth. It is only right that we return the gift now,” Sudi added.
