Life of Peter Mbugua Years After his first wife, Wambui Otieno, Died

Remember Peter Mbugua who made headlines over two decades ago after marrying Wambui Otieno Mbugua, a 67-year-old widow?

At the time, Peter was 25 years old when he Controversially married a woman (Wambui Otieno Mbugua) 42 years his senior.

Mbugua and Wambui were married for the first time in July 2003 at St. Andrew’s PCEA after a civil ceremony in Nairobi’s Sheria House.

Wambui’s daughters skipped the wedding, and Mbugua’s mother, who was 53 at the time, refused to accept Wambui as her daughter-in-law.

The daughters of Wambui Otieno Mbugua were upset that their mother was getting married to a man who was 42 years their junior. Before marrying Wambui, Mbugua is rumored to have broken off her engagement.

A few days after the wedding, Mbugua’s mother passed away. The late S M Otieno, a well-known Luo attorney, was Wambui’s first husband.

Is Wambui Otieno dead?

Wambui died on 30 August 2011 of heart failure and this was the beginning of all the drama revolving around Peter Mbugua and her family.

Criticism over his Marriage to an older lady

Mbugua claimed to have provided Wambui with the best companionship possible and that he thought his sacrifice made her dying years happy.

This came as strong criticism was leveled at their engagement since many believed the former stonemason was solely interested in Wambui’s fortune. Mbugua, however, denied the allegations and declared his love for Wambui at the time.

What happened to Peter Mbugua after his old wife, Mrs Wambui died?

All of Wambui’s movable and immovable possessions, as well as whatever cash she had in the bank, were divided among her ten children and eight grandchildren in the precise will she signed on June 19, 2011.

Wambui stipulated that her estate be used to cover the costs of her funeral.

However, according to Sunday Nation, years after Wambui died, Mbugua was declared persona non grata, meaning that he could no longer have access to any property of the late multi-millionaire.

As per the local news outlet, the man went to live in a single room house where he has been staying with his second wife who he married shortly after Wambui’s death.

What’s interesting is that the house in Kitengela where Mbugua resides is owned by the late Wambui but he has no access to her other properties including her main house in Karen.

That’s not all, Peter Mbugua is recorded while complaining how a Toyota Harrier registered in his name, was given to one of Wambui’s daughters who had purchased it.
