West Ham and Chelsea squared off against one another in the Premier League on Sunday evening as both teams looked to earn their first win of the new season.
West Ham has been much less willing to spend than Chelsea, who broke records by hoarding young talent throughout the summer transfer window. However, Edson Alvarez, whose transfer to Chelsea last year fell through at the last minute, joined the Hammers in August.
After Declan Rice departure for a British record amount, West Ham still appeared to be a team in transition and in need of a rebuild. They were maybe fortunate to leave Bournemouth with a draw last weekend. The Hammers did control the early action, but they allowed the Cherries to retake the lead and were clinging to a draw at the game’s conclusion.

Back to London stadium
During their match against Chelsea at London stadium, West ham took an early lead before the blues equalized before the break.
Later in the second half, West ham yet again took the lead with talisman Antonio scoring for the hosts.
To cement the win, Brazilian Paqueta scored for the hammers through a penalty kick hence taking the London side to the top 6 of the Premier League table.
On the other hand, the blues of Chelsea who suffered the defeat at the London stadium, are now in the 14th place on the Premier League table.
Earlier in the day…..
Earlier in the day, Aston Villa started their home Premier League campaign with a strong result by defeating Everton 4-0 at Villa Park.
They got their first goal earlier in the fort half and the second goal came via a spot kick after Jordan Pickford fouled Ollie Watkins with Douglas Luiz scoring.
After the break, Leon Bailey added a third goal, and replacement Jhon Duran added the cherry on top with a brilliant finish.
Following their opening-day loss at Newcastle, Villa had the ideal retort, as Everton suffered their second consecutive loss.
