Radio Citizen ‘chemi chemi’ ya ukweli phrase

The man behind the ‘radio Citizen Chemi Chemi ya ukweli’ phrase is none other than Kenyan actor and voice-over artist Abel Amunga, Ruth Matete’s father.

His journey in the media industry started over 25 years ago, and he was specialized
as a commercial artist.

Abel Amunga would later be cast for appearances on television screens, and this further opened doors for him.

“First, I started as an artist for TV commercials; I did numerous TV ads, but before that, I started doing television voices. Later on, I was cast for appearance and voices.”

Amunga said this during a previous interview.



Job at Radio Citizen 

Amunga started his job at Radio Citizen over 16 years ago, where his main task was to make voices for several commercials.

His most famous commercial on the radio station is ‘Radio Citizen Chemi Chemi ya ukweli’ which has run for over a decade now.

“I got a job at Radio Citizen, where I have been working as the station’s voice for over 16 years up to date,”

he added.


Other Careers

In addition to doing voices for the Royal Media Services radio station, Abel Amunga is a songwriter, musician, and actor.

Actually, his music career has spanned over 40 years, and he has written songs for some gospel musicians in Kenya, paving the way for their success in the industry.

On the other hand, his acting prowess has been on top level, as he has featured in popular series in Kenya for over 20 years, including Tabasamu, Selina, Mali, and Changes, just to name a few.
