According to statistics, Safaricom is the leading and richest company as of now due to its revenue generation across the country and beyond.

The Company was first launched in Kenya in1997, has now employed at least 4,500 workers in different sectors.

According to Tuko News, Safaricom has several shareholders including the government of Kenya (35%) and South Africa firm Vodacom also having shares of 35%.

According to Safaricom Website, their total revenue for the financial year ending March 31, 2025, was KES 388.7 billion. This means Safaricom made approximately Shs 12,337 every second as customers continued to use their services, such as M-Pesa and airtime purchases.

As the telecommunications company makes approximately Shs 12,337 per second, this means that Safaricom, the richest company in Kenya, makes around Shs 44.4 million per hour, which is an estimated Shs 1.06 billion every day.

Being the richest company in Kenya, Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa earns Shs 88.89 million annually, which translates to around Shs 7.4 million a month. This makes him one of the best-paid CEOs in the country.
