For many years, most Kenyans have perceived that Mogaka is from the Nyanza region, specifically the Kisii region, but that is not the case. In Vitimbi, Mogaka who portrayed a middle aged Kisii man, was the husband to Nyasuguta (who is also well-known for her Kisii accent).

Mogaka’s real name, Francis Njenga, is from the central region of Kenya, but he has mastered the Kisii accent, which has just been an act.
