President William Ruto continued with his 5-day tour in Nairobi City. On Thursday, the head of state pitched camp in Langata, where he traversed several areas, including Toi Market and Olympic Kibera stage, among other places.

During the rallies, the President vowed to work with all the leaders, including former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He also urged the need to foster the country’s unity as he slammed leaders who preach tribalism and ethnicity.

Apart from politics, William Ruto promised to modernize the Toi Market to make it a safer place for both the sellers and buyers.
We have put more than Sh500 million in the modernization of the Toi Market to make it safer and more conducive for traders to operate from. At the DC Grounds, thanked the people of Kibra Constituency for their support of the broad-based government. United, we will work harder and ensure that we change Kenya.” Ruto said on social media
Additionally, President Ruto opened the Kibra technical and vocational college and inspected classroom construction at Ayany Primary and Junior School. In what seems to have been a busy day for Ruto, he also served lunch consisting of chapati, rice, and special ndengu to students of Toi Primary School under the transformative Dishi Na County program, Kibra Constituency.

How Ruto was received by the locals of Kibra and Lang’ata
Throughout his trip, the president preached his cooperation agreement with veteran opposition boss Raila Odinga. As such, President Ruto got resounding receptions as he made stopovers at Kibra and Lang’ata (areas perceived to be Raila Odinga’s strongholds). The president took the opportunity to address the locals of the region who turned up in large numbers.

Langata and Kibra known to be strongholds for Raila, President Ruto is poised to cement his support in the region following his unity with the former.

Early signs indicate that he has started to enjoy some support in places where he rarely got support prior to the previous election.
