The late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, has said that some members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) are trying to sabotage and sell the party following the death of the party leader.

While speaking in Mombasa as ODM celebrated its 20th anniversary on Friday 14th, Winnie Odinga called out a section of party members who have been causing issues in recent days, claiming that there are plans to sell the party.
The EALA Member of Parliament further stated that there are party members who pretend to be ODM loyalists during the day while secretly working with party rivals at night. She said they will not succeed in splitting the Orange Democratic Movement, as it is not for sale.

“Forget the ODM split, it’s frog noise. There are others who walk with us day and night trying to sell the party; they will not succeed. ODM is not for sale!” ~ Winnie Odinga
Winnie Odinga’s remarks come as the ODM party works to solidify support nationwide ahead of the 2027 general election, with top officials, including Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, asserting that the party will grow stronger in the coming days.
Also during the event, Governor James Orengo said that ODM is a party for the people and will stand strong to fight for the rights of Kenyans.

Orengo, a close ally of the late Raila Odinga, further stated that ODM will help fuel change in the country.
“The ODM Party is a party for the people!
A movement rising with renewed strength, unity, and purpose—more powerful than ever before. Rooted in the struggles and hopes of ordinary citizens, ODM is stepping into a new era where the people’s voice drives every decision, shapes every reform, and fuels an unstoppable momentum for real change,” Orengo said.
