A Glimpse of Secondary Schools Attended by Your Favourite Kenyan Politicians

Before taking your child to school, make sure you have understood the culture of that institution. As a responsible parent, dig in about the past performance of the school. Also, try and gauge the kind of staff they have on board. This helps to identify your kid’s passion.

If you study our current political leaders, you will realise the quality in their conduct—how they drive themselves, the kind of speech they deliver to their audience, and not forgetting the elusive strategies they employ to take our nation to the next level.

Most of our politicians attended reputable secondary schools in the country.

This is evident in their eloquence whenever they address their supporters.

However, not much is known about the schools in which they sharpened their skills.

Ann Waiguru

The first female governor of Kirinyaga County is an alumni of Precious Blood Girls’ Secondary School, Riruta, where she took her O-levels between 1984 and 1987.

Sabina Chege

Sabina Chege went to Our Lady Consolata Mugoiri Girls High School in Murang’a County.

Babu Owino

The outspoken  politician and current MP of Embakasi East attended Kisumu Boys’ Secondary School from 2003 to 2006.

William Ruto

The current president of Kenya sat for his KCSE at Kapsabet High in Nandi in the 1980s. Before joining the academic giants, he was a student at Wareng Secondary School.

Raila Odinga

The chief opposition leader in Kenya’s politics, ‘Agwambo,’ went to Maranda High School before dropping out in 1962.

Millicent Omanga

The controversial politician “mama miradi” attended Mumbi Girls High School, situated in Kiharu Constituency, Murang’a County.

Ali Hassan Joho

The flamboyant politician went to Serani boys Secondary  School.

During a past interview , the former governor of Mombasa revealed that he sat for his KCSE exams in 1993.
