Nevertheless, JB Masanduku, just like any other human being, faced some personal challenges at some point in life. For instance, the comedian spent his first Shs 1 million in only 11 days. For a young man straight from school, this is a huge amount, but spending it irresponsibly is unnecessary. JB Masanduku squandered the money within just a few days.

While speaking to the media a few years ago, the comedian opened up on how lack of financial knowledge led him to use his first huge salary within 11 days.

He booked a flight from Nairobi straight to the neighboring country. The comedian didn’t even travel with his clothes, as he would buy new ones in an expensive bouquet. While in Uganda, he converted Kshs 100,000 to the Ugandan currency (in millions).
“When I got to Uganda, I exchanged KSh 100k and was given another million, and now I’m a millionaire twice, both a Kenyan and Ugandan millionaire,” he said in a past interview.
JB Masanduku, who was overwhelmed at the moment, bought an expensive phone, costing Shs 112k. Moments later, he gave it to a cab driver who dropped him at an expensive club in Uganda. In the club, he bought for everyone taking beer an additional 5 bottles and those taking wine, 2 additional bottles.
Apart from spending on alcohol, women at the club allegedly stole Shs 300 from him. After partying in Uganda, he travelled to Burundi and Rwanda, where he spent huge amounts of money. Sadly, by the time he was returning to Kenya (on the 11th day), he had only Shs 12 in his account.
“By the time I was coming back home 11 days later, I had 12 bob,” Masanduku further revealed.

This is as they had planned to invest the money. Later, Tina Kagia divorced JB Masanduku, who finally learned that financial literacy is very vital to success.
