In the past few years, TV47 has grown to become one of the most sort after television/media stations in Kenya.
This is as the Cape Media owned TV station has not only poached ‘Creme dela creme‘ from big media stations in Kenya but also launched state-of-the-art studios.
The acquisition of the top talent from media heavyweights in Kenya has undoubtedly drawn huge viewership and this has helped the media station grow fast.
Now Times Digital explores some of the prolific media personalities who left big stations to Join TV47 newsroom.
Journalists who joined TV47 after leaving big media stations
Willis Raburu
The charismatic media personality left Citizen TV after his 13 year stint at Royal Media services where he hosted several shows. In addition to his TV role at Citizen TV Raburu was a host at Hot 96. However, just two months after his departure from RMG, the former 10 over 10 host announced his new job at TV47.

Here, Raburu was awarded with several roles with the main being the host of Wabebe xperience.
Grace Kuria
Grace Kuria who is among the few talented female journalists in Kenya returned to Kenya upon TV47’s request for her services.
Before TV47 enquired her services, the youthful media personality was working at BBC. Grace Kuria has few years experience where she has worked for top stations in Kenya including K24, CGTN, and KTN NEWS.

Fred Indimuli
Indimuli was among the first journalists to be poached by TV47 as he is well known for his experience in the media.
He previously worked at Radio Africa, Citizen TV and KBC.
Ahmed Bajaj
Bajaj well known for his fluent swahili in the sports arena, joined TV47 after few years of great experience at KTN news.
The intention was to elevate TV47’s sports programming in the country.
George Maringa
Maringa who worked as a political and social affairs reporter at KTN news, brought his experience to TV47’s brand new newsroom.
Shatta Bway
Steve Jacob Maunda popularly known as Shatta Bway is the latest media personality to join the Cape Media owned station. This came just a few days after he announced his departure from Radio Citizen.
At TV47, Shatta Bway’s main job at Cape Media is to oversee the company’s betting product and also as a host at both TV47 and Radio 47.
Fred Arocho
Arocho who has rich experience in sports not only left Radio Jambo but also Citizen TV to work with TV47’s sister station Radio 47 just recently.

other notable names that joined TV47 include Doctor Ofweneke, Hassan Mwana Wa Ali and Mwanaisha Chidzuga.
