Kenya has produced many comedians over the past two decades, with some fading away along the journey, while others have maintained their status and succeeded in their ventures.
Kajairo is one of the top names that pops up in the minds of most Kenyans when it comes to comedy. He is well known for his participation in the Redykyulass comedy show in the early 2000s.

However, despite becoming a brand in Kenya at the beginning of the millennium, he is nowhere to be seen in modern comedy. So where is Kajairo?

Times Digital Kenya now takes a closer look at his life after going off the grid in Kenya’s comic industry.

Peter Kaimenyi came a long way in the ranks of Kenyan comedy as he even worked with Daniel Ndambuki ‘Churchill’, Peter Kiarie and Nyambane among other heavyweights in the industry.

What happened to Kajairo?
Just after he hit his peak while making parody songs, the seasoned comedian suddenly disappeared from the radar. He had some reasons for being less involved in his previous job (comedy and parody).

While speaking to a local media outlet in the recent past, Kajairo revealed that he was more focused on business. In addition, he was also involved in nurturing upcoming talent, including pranksters.
As such, most of his time is now dedicated to business and mentoring the new kids on the block, which has gradually led him to disappear from the limelight.

Did kajairo go broke?
In 2017, rumors spread that Kajairo had gone broke to the point of moving back to his mother’s house. The comedian denied the allegations, stating that he was doing fine and was running a business that served as his main source of income.
