His song remains a lasting memory, while his whereabouts have been a mystery for the past 20 years.
In this segment, Times Digital Kenya explores how Czars mysteriously disappeared shortly after his hit song was released, as well as the conspiracies surrounding it.
When did Czars disappear?
C’zars, who was at the time one of the most popular musicians in Kenya, disappeared at his peak on October 13, 2006. He never returned home after leaving his father’s Bamburi residence in Mombasa for a walk.
Since then, most lovers of Kenyan music have raised concerns over his absence and made numerous assumptions about what might have happened to him.

Sadly, the young musician, once seen as a future superstar, has been missing for over 20 years, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Is Czars alive?
During a past interview, Czar’s late father, Mr. Makasi, remained optimistic that his son would return, even after many years of disappearance.
“If he comes back, it will be a happy moment. I will let him go on with the life he wants. I will not interfere with his life because he must be a grown-up now. Mine is to pray for him that God will bring him back safe,” his father Makasi said during a past interview.
Mr. Makasi always felt that if C’zars were alive today, he would be one of the most successful musicians in Kenya because of his outstanding talent.
“Musically, I think he would have been one of the top artists in the world, according to the talent he had. His quality of music would have been very high,” he added.
Has Czars been found?
It has now been 20 years since he disappeared, and while his fans still hope to find him one day, others believe that he is no more.
There has also been much speculation that Czars is in Australia, where he allegedly went into hiding, but this has never been proven.
