Talia Oyando has been in the public eye for over 20 years. This is as the versatile media personality has dominated the entertainment industry in Kenya, working as a radio host, TV presenter, and musician.

The Night Nurse was born to Maurice Oyando, a famous producer in the country. She was definitely influenced by her father’s venture in the entertainment industry. Talia grew up in a musical childhood, hence maintaining admiration and passion for the field up to date.
Music Career
Talia Oyando formed a music group, Talma, when she was still a teenager. This was a result of being close to her dad, who had a studio in the house. Therefore, a young Talia teamed up with fellow teenagers Alma and Yma to form the Talma music group.

The young girls then produced an album, Jambo Rafiki, in the early 2000s. Their talent didn’t go unnoticed as they won an Emmy award in 2001. As such, Talia Oyando and her colleagues became the youngest Kenyans to ever win the prestigious award.

Sadly, the group didn’t last long; the young singers went separate ways after a short period of success. On the other hand, Talia Oyando was just kick-starting her entertainment journey. A few years later, she collaborated with top Kenyan musicians such as the late E-Sir and CMB Prezzo.

Talia Oyando as a media personality
Although Talia was doing well in music, she decided to unceremoniously ditch the industry for radio. The Night Nurse became even more popular working as a radio host at Easy FM (Nation FM). However, years later, she briefly quit the media before making a comeback on Homeboyz radio.

Talia Oyando’s return on radio also ushered in her time on the TV screens. Within a few months of her resurfacing, Talia was hired by Citizen TV. During her time at the Royal Media Services TV station, she worked as a reggae (one love) host. The charismatic worked for Citizen TV for 8 years (until early 2025).

The radio host met her husband, Ezekiel Onyango, in a nightclub. Ezekiel is quite popular in the country as he is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Film Crew Africa. They are both big names in the entertainment industry.

Talia and Ezekiel married in a traditional ceremony in 2010 (15 years ago). The event was attended by a handful of people.

The former ‘one love’ host is proud of how her husband is a great father. The couple is blessed with only one child, Lyric. The young boy is the pride of his mother, Talia Oyando.
