KCSE Grades Scored by 5 Famous Kenyan Politicians

Most Kenyans may think that almost all politicians in Kenya passed their KCSE examinations, but that’s not the case.

It’s a fact that some of them passed their KCSE exams, while others failed, and they’re somehow proud of it.

KCSE Grades scored by Kenyan politician

Ali Hassan Joho

The former county boss of Mombasa Ali Hassan Joho who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 1993, scored a D-.

Despite not passing in secondary school exams, CS Joho is very proud of his performance given his achievements in life.

“Yes, I am a holder of a D- (minus), and I have been able to change a lot about my life. Today, I have progressed, and I am almost pursuing my Master’s degree. This should inspire Kenyans….” he told Citizen TV during a past interview.

Mike Mbuvi Sonko

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko Mbuvi scored a C- in KCSE in 1992 when he was a student at Kwale High.

Johnson Sakaja

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja faced various allegations against his educational background before being elected into office. However, he went on to prove his academic records.

According to reports, the Nairobi Governor, who attended Lenana School and completed his high school education in 2002, got an A- (minus).

Jalang’o

Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor’s Alias Jalang’o disclosed during a past interview that he scored a C+ in the KCSE examinations.

He is a well-known media figure who has found success in the entertainment business and most recently in politics.

Babu Owino

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino is among the top-performing politicians in the KCSE exams.
