Robot Cafe: Restaurant in Kenya Where Robots Work as Waiters 


Residents of Nairobi now have the opportunity to experience the first ever restaurant where its waiters are robots. You heard it right: the Robot Cafe in Kenya has deployed robots as its partial staff.

The Robot Cafe is located on the ground floor of the Lana Plaza complex along Oloitoktok Road in Kileleshwa, Nairobi. Once you get inside the modern cafe, you are welcomed by the robot’s warm smile, which simulates the human face. You will also learn that the robots give you a warm reception.

How the robots serve customers

The Robot Cafe has well-programmed robots that have ready-inbuilt trays. It is on these trays that they receive food from the staff members. After a customer makes his order, a robot is given an assignment to deliver the food within a few minutes.

On the other end, the human staff prepares the food that is ordered, then hands it to the robot by carefully putting it on the trays. 

Immediately after the food is placed on the tray, the assigned robot moves swiftly to the customer’s table, who in turn picks up the food.

In this modern restaurant, there are a variety of menus that include international dishes and local foods, just to name a few. The Robot Cafe is not only meant for food; customers get new experiences.
